블랙베리, 송한진 한국 지사장 선임

과거 보안 스마트폰의 개척자로 잘 알려진 블랙베리는 지난 10년간 성공적인 혁신을 거쳐 소프트웨어 및 서비스 분야의 글로벌 리더로 거듭났다. 현재 전 세계 정부와 산업 분야에 보안과 핵심 업무(Mission-Critical) 솔루션을 제공하고 있으며, 주요 고객으로는 북대서양조약기구(NATO), G7 전 회원국, G20 국가 중 18개국 정부, 그리고 세계 10대 글로벌 은행 중 8곳 등이 있다.

송한진 신임 지사장은 맥아피(McAfee) 코리아와 인텔 시큐리티(Intel Security) 코리아 지사장을 역임하는 등 IT 업계에서 25년 이상의 풍부한 경험을 쌓은 베테랑이다. 블랙베리는 송 지사장의 리더십을 바탕으로 국내 공공 및 민간 부문의 디지털 현대화 이니셔티브를 적극 지원할 계획이다. 특히 국가 중요 인프라 보호와 디지털 회복탄력성(Digital Resilience) 강화에 중점을 두고, 위기 상황이나 주요 사건 발생 시 운영 연속성과 보안을 보장하는 데 주력할 방침이다.

블랙베리는 향후 한국 시장에서 다음 세 가지 핵심 축을 중심으로 사업을 전개할 예정이다.

  • 통합 엔드포인트 관리 (BlackBerry UEM): 단일 플랫폼에서 모든 모바일 기기와 엔드포인트를 관리 및 보호하는 소프트웨어다. 데이터 유출을 원천 차단하며 장소에 구애받지 않는 안전한 모바일 업무 환경을 지원한다.
  • 미션 크리티컬 보안 커뮤니케이션 (BlackBerry SecuSUITE): 정부 및 국방 등급의 엄격한 표준을 충족하는 최고 수준의 암호화 기술을 제공한다. 이를 통해 모바일 음성 통화 및 메시지에 대한 도청과 감청을 방지한다.
  • 중요 이벤트 관리 (BlackBerry AtHoc): 국방 작전부터 자연재해, IT 중단 사태, 국가 기반 시설에 대한 사이버 공격 등 위기가 고조되는 상황에서 운영 회복탄력성을 보장하는 실시간 위기 커뮤니케이션 플랫폼이다. 팀, 기관, 지역사회 간의 신속한 상황 인식과 양방향 소통을 가능케 한다.

BlackBerry Appoints Hanjin Song as Managing Director for South Korea

SEOUL, South Korea – January 15, 2026 – BlackBerry today announced the appointment of Hanjin Song as Managing Director of its Secure Communications division in South Korea. Song will lead BlackBerry’s market presence in the country and strengthen strategic partnerships to drive growth and expansion.

Once a pioneer in secure smartphones, BlackBerry successfully transformed into a global leader in software and services during the past decade, delivering secure, mission-critical solutions to governments and industries worldwide. BlackBerry’s customers include NATO, all G7 nations, 18 of the G20 governments, and eight of the world’s top ten global banks.

BlackBerry’s appointment of Song, an industry veteran with over 25 years of experience, follows his tenure as Country Manager of McAfee Korea and Intel Security Korea. Under his leadership, BlackBerry will focus on supporting South Korea’s public and private sectors as they advance digital modernization initiatives, with a strong emphasis on protecting critical national infrastructure and strengthening digital resilience. These efforts are aimed at ensuring operational continuity and security during times of disruption and critical events.

BlackBerry will lead its Korean operations with three core pillars:

  • Unified Endpoint Management (BlackBerry UEM): Enables secure mobile working from anywhere with software that manages and secures all mobile devices and endpoints from a single platform, preventing data leakage.
  • Mission-Critical Secure Communications (BlackBerry  SecuSUITE): Highest-level encryption technology for mobile voice and messaging to prevent eavesdropping and interception, meeting government and defense-grade standards.
  • Critical Event Management (BlackBerry AtHoc): A real-time crisis communication platform that ensures operational resilience when it matters most; from defence operations to natural disasters, IT outages and cyber-attacks on critical infrastructure. It enables rapid situational awareness and two-way communication between across teams, agencies, and communities.
